Privacy Policy
I used to work in tech – protecting client data is of the utmost importance to me. I take the responsibility of protecting your "PII" (Personally Identifiable Information) very seriously, and this includes your birth data.
So, here's in plain English what you need to know about where your information will be used:
When you use the Astrology calendars with your personal data, your birthdate is briefly used by a pythons script - just long enough to calculate your chart. Then, a token is created, and the actual birth info is "forgotten." What is stored is the resulting chart information (for example, "Venus — Aries 27°36'24" or "Mars: Moon Trine (-08°14'25", Separating, Wide)"), along with the generated token (so that you can find your data again).
I (located in the United States) use my web server, hosted in Germany (where their privacy laws are very strict) as my primary client document and data storage, along with my local drives (again, in the U.S.) on the instances where I need to store data locally (for example, if we work together directly and I use the Astrology software on my machine).
I use services like Ko-fi to handle payments, and Tally when I need to use intake forms. These services are used to make your experience easier, and I do not have access to your payment information (credit card numbers, etc.) – that is handled by the payment processor. Any data entered in those services is under their privacy policies.
Tech is, and always will be, fallible. I protect your information to the best of my ability, however I cannot provide a guarantee around the tech services I use, nor am I liable for any security breaches which may occur.
If you are not comfortable with the use of these services, please feel free to contact me, and let's discuss your concerns. There is no pressure to buy, I will only work to clarify where the data is used, and if you don't want to purchase, then that's no problem. I want you to feel safe in your purchases from me.
Your token and chart info is stored in the database, until or unless I need to empty the database for space reasons (unlikely, but possible). If you work with me directly, I keep client data on file for ease of reference for future questions/purchases from you. If at any time after you've received your services, you would like me to delete your data, please let me know and I will happily do so. This means I won't be able to reference your chart or review our previous work together, so that's the trade off. There's no pressure intended or implied – that's simply the reason I have your data.
Here's the rest of the legalese ...
